Installing your Tuya Smart Switch is a straightforward DIY project. Follow this guide to get your WiFi or Zigbee 3.0 switch up and running safely.

⚠️ Safety First

Step 1: Identify Your Wiring Type

Before you begin, check the wires in your wall box:

  1. With Neutral Wire: You will see a Live wire (Brown/Red) and a Neutral wire (Blue).
  2. No Neutral Wire (Single Fire): You will only see the Live wire and the Lamp wires. Use our “No Neutral” model for this setup.

Step 2: Wiring Diagrams

Option A: Wiring With Neutral (Standard Setup)

  1. Connect the Live wire to the L terminal.
  2. Connect the Neutral wire to the N terminal.
  3. Connect the Lamp wire(s) to the L1, L2, or L3 terminals.

Option B: Wiring Without Neutral (Single Fire Setup)

  1. Connect the Live wire to the L terminal.
  2. Connect the Lamp wire to the L1 terminal.
  3. Crucial Step: Install the included Capacitor across the L1 and Neutral terminals of your light bulb (not behind the switch) to prevent flickering.

Step 3: Mounting the Switch

  1. Neatly tuck the wires back into the wall box.
  2. Secure the switch base using the provided screws.
  3. Snap the tempered glass panel onto the base.
  4. Restore the power at the circuit breaker.

Step 4: App Configuration (Tuya/Smart Life)

For WiFi Version:

  4. Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network (5GHz is not supported).
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the setup.
